Richard Blake

Richard Blake is one of The Kercher Collection’s Core Authors. In addition to Richard’s writing, Richard is a geologist and a mining engineer. His hands-on knowledge and experience has prepared him to do the kind of non-fiction writing which is highlighted on this website.

His first book is The Complete American Gold Prospectors Handbook. The title says it, complete. This book is an excellent reference source book. It has all of the information concerning Gold. Where to find it, how to explore for it and how to properly record the exploration – it’s all here. He has personally filed over two dozen mining claims, set up three gold placer mines and assisted in a uranium mineral surveys. He knows what and how to do the whole spectrum of exploration. And, the information is presented in an easy to read, as non-technical as possible, format.

His second book. Help Me Pan for Gold, takes the new person, caught up in their first case of Gold Fever, and details step-by-step how to and where to pan for gold. The books tells the reader what they will need to begin panning for gold and where they can get what they will need. With all of that information and the material in hand, the reader can begin an outdoor adventure that can be fun for the entire family, and can even make some money.

Richard’s third book, is a departure from his previous themes -- Gold. In his third book, A Dolphin's Tale, Richard writes about a legendary, and some consider a supernatural kind of animal – the Amazon River or Pink Dolphin. Before publishing this book, Richard had the manuscript reviewed by the Walt Disney studios. After reviewing the manuscript, the Disney animator called Richard’s book, A Dolphin’s Tale, a beautiful story. The book reads like a fairy tale, yet it is true.

I worked with Richard on the editing of his books and enjoyed they greatly. His writing style and his knowledge leaves the reader feeling confident that they are getting the real story.
