In the early 1990s, Vince Flynn became interested in Washington DC politics and how it functioned. With his concern with Washington waste and corruption in mind, he wrote his first novel, Term Limits in 1991. It is not a Mitch Rapp novel. In 1999, Flynn found his niche, his voice and his character – Mitch Rapp.

Mitch Rapp is a shadow CIA agent. He is CIA, but so deep that many people only know about what he can do. His name is almost spoken in hush tones, if even that.

A cult status has developed around Rapp, much the way a cult like status developed around Jack Bauer in the TV series, 24. Once he developed Rapp, Flynn’s wrote only novels about Mitch Rapp.

Sadly, in 2013, Vince Flynn died from cancer.

For readers who enjoy intrigue and non-stop action, the books about Mitch Rapp give you everything you need.

Below is a list of his Rapp books.

  • American Assassin (Mitch Rapp #1)

  • Kill Shot (Mitch Rapp #2)

  • Transfer of Power (Mitch Rapp #3)

  • The Third Option (Mitch Rapp #4)

  • Separation of Power (Mitch Rapp #5)

  • Executive Power (Mitch Rapp #6)

  • Memorial Day (Mitch Rapp #7)

  • Consent to Kill (Mitch Rapp #8)

  • Act of Treason (Mitch Rapp #9)

  • Protect and Defend (Mitch Rapp #10)

  • Extreme Measures (Mitch Rapp #11)

  • Pursuit of Honor (Mitch Rapp #12)

  • The Last Man (Mitch Rapp #13)

In 2015, Kyle Mills took over as the author and the driving force behind Mitch Rapp. Mills has written two more books featuring Mitch Rapp, The Survivor and Order to Kill. I haven’t read the two newest books, so I can’t comment on them, but the first thirteen are great and exciting reads.
